Psychological care

Psychological counseling is available to patients of the CPMA and to the external medical network. Any issues concerning reproduction and/or parenthood can be addressed.

During the first consultation at the CPMA, the gynecologist routinely offers to the couple the possibility to meet with a doctor specialized in psychological care or with a counselor in sexual and reproductive health. The purpose of the psychological interview is to take the time with a professional, to add perspective on fertility issues in each one's life experiences. When coming to the CPMA, the couple has decided to entrust the fertility problem to a team of specialists. The couple will be faced with investigations, diagnoses, decisions about treatment, treatment and waiting for a result. This sequence of events can be experienced sometimes with hope, sometimes with disappointment or sadness, often with a significant emotional impact.

Our experience has shown that this moment of reflection is constructive for the couple. It can allow the partners to become aware of their strengths and weaknesses and their potential to mobilize the necessary resources to advance at best on their own path.

At any time you can contact the secretariat of the CPMA to make an appointment with Dr. Marysa Emery, Dr. Dominique Laufer or Laure de Jonckheere.
