Former head of the Laboratory of Reproductive Biology (LBR)

Dr. Alfred Senn studied physics at the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale in Lausanne, and Biology at the University of Lausanne, with a doctoral thesis in sciences in 1979. He then devoted himself to teaching and research in plant biology and physiology (Prof. PE Pilet), and accomplished post-doc training in the United States (Yale University, Prof. MH Goldsmith). In January 1988, he joined the team of Professor Germond in Lausanne to take charge of the Laboratory of Andrology of the University Hospital, and as of 1999, the Laboratory of reproductive biology of the CPMA.

Dr. Alfred Senn received several research grants from the FNRS and contributed to the publication of more than 50 articles in books and scientific journals. In January 2011, after his early retirement, he retained a mandat for consultancy in computer science and reproductive biology in the CPMA and the F.A.B.E.R. Foundation, as well as remaining an expert advisor, until 2016.
