Accreditation of the LBR

The Laboratory of Reproductive Biology (LBR) of the CPMA is accredited under ISO / IEC 17025 since November 23, 2001, by the Swiss Accreditation Service (SAS), which is the Federal Department of Economic Affairs (DFE) .

Following the establishment of the company CPMA SA in September 2005, the LBR received a new number of STS SAS (458) on March 31, 2006. The STS registry of the LBR is visible on Internet.

Following the monitoring visit of the SAS on 24th of April 2007 (according to the new version of ISO / IEC 17025: 2005), the accreditation of the LBR was confirmed.

A second monitoring visit took place on August 28, 2008. Mr Ian Mann and SAS expert Dr. Marco Balerna, technical expert, noted the high competence of the LBR employees and the serenity that prevails in the laboratory. They were impressed by the new organization of LBR on two sites and accreditation was confirmed.

A third monitoring visit took place on October 27, 2009. The accreditation was continued and no corrective actions were identified during the assessment.

An audit of re-accreditation took place on December 14, 2010. Dr Alfred Senn was replaced at the direction of the LBR by Dr Alain Chanson and Dresse Françoise Urner, both "Senior Clinical Embryologists ESHRE." The new settings of the LBR at Vigie 5 were assessed by Mr Ian Mann and Dr. Marco Balerna. In their report, the experts note that these new facilities can provide the services in excellent conditions and that this new infrastructure allows, in addition, to have better interactions with the clinical area, which is essential in the field of reproductive biology. The LBR accreditation was renewed for five years, until March 30, 2016.

The LBR activities aim to provide quality services, develop new diagnostic and therapeutic approaches in the field of infertility, to maintain a trusting relationship with the applicants and patients and promote through a quality program and a coordinated convergence of everyone's efforts a spirit of openness and rigor. The LBR activities are conducted in compliance with the Federal Law on Medically Assisted Procreation (LPMA) and its Implementing Ordinance (OPMA).
