Chief scientific officer of the Laboratory of Reproductive Biology (LBR)  of the CPMA

Dr Françoise Urner graduated in Biology from the University of Geneva in 1980 and received a PhD in Science on the maturation of oocytes in 1986. She then worked for many years in the team of medically assisted procreation (PMA) of the Geneva University Hospitals, where she specialized in the techniques of ART, while developing a research program on fertilization. In January 2004, she joined the team led by Prof. Marc Germond at the University Hospital CHUV, Lausanne. By September 2005 she was appointed research manager in the Laboratory of Reproductive Biology (LBR) of the CPMA and the FABER foundation in Lausanne. Since July 2010, she has been co-chairing the LBR and is chief scientic officer at the CPMA.

Her interests are physiology of the gametes, fertilization and embryonic development in vitro. Her objectives are to conduct research in the field of reproduction in order to improve treatment by in vitro fertilization.

Dr Françoise Urner has received several grants from the FNRS (Swiss national fund for scientific research) and has published numerous articles in the field of reproduction.
