Laure de Jonckheere
Counselor in sexual and reproductive health.
After obtaining her medical assistant diploma in 1997, Laure de Jonckheere worked more than four years with general practitioners and three and a half years with a pediatrician in their clinical practices.
She joined the CPMA in January 2005 as a medical assistant. Since then, she is responsible for leading group information sessions for couples entering assisted reproduction treatments (especially IVF and ICSI). From the beginning at the CPMA, she was interested in the psychological aspects concerning subfertile couples and began a parallel education as a counselor. She graduated from training with a diploma of counselor in sexual and reproductive health in September 2008 (Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences, University of Geneva, Faculty of Biology and Medicine of Lausanne High School of Social Work, Geneva). Between 2010 and 2012, Laure de Jonckheere completed her training in couple therapy at the Institute for couple and family studies in Geneva (Dr R. Neuburger).
Laure de Jonckheere practices psychological interviews based on the concept of "resource counseling" with couples who wish to undertake a treatment of medically assisted procreation. She also meets with couples who feel the need for psychological support during this journey.
Laure de Jonckheere continues her training through courses and meetings organized by the following associations to which she belongs:
- FertiForum, Commission of the Swiss Society for Reproductive Medicine, regrouping professionals who counsel couples faced with subfertility and medically assisted procreation;
- The ASCPF, Swiss Association of Family Planning Consultancy;
- Santé sexuelle suisse, the umbrella organization of clinics for family planning, pregnancy, sexuality and sex education.
